Olpajeta

Ol Pejeta Conservancy is a renowned wildlife sanctuary in Kenya, known for its black rhino population, endangered species conservation, and unique wildlife experiences.

Ol Pejeta Conservancy, located near the foothills of Mount Kenya, is one of Kenya's leading wildlife conservancies and a world-famous sanctuary for endangered species. Spanning 360 square kilometers, it is home to East Africa’s largest black rhino population, as well as the last two surviving northern white rhinos on Earth, making it a vital center for rhino conservation. Ol Pejeta also protects other endangered species, including Grevy’s zebras, and is one of the few places in Kenya where visitors can see chimpanzees, thanks to its Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary.

The conservancy offers a diverse range of safari experiences across its vast savannah, acacia forests, and riverine habitats. Here, you can encounter the “Big Five” along with cheetahs, hippos, giraffes, and abundant birdlife, creating an enriching wildlife experience. Ol Pejeta’s focus on conservation is evident in its innovative programs, from community outreach and education to high-tech monitoring and anti-poaching measures.

Beyond wildlife, Ol Pejeta provides unique experiences like night game drives, lion tracking, and visits to the endangered species enclosure, where guests can learn about ongoing efforts to save species on the brink of extinction. The conservancy’s commitment to sustainable tourism and community support makes it an inspiring example of conservation that benefits both wildlife and local people.

Ol Pejeta Conservancy is a must-visit for those seeking to explore Kenya’s wildlife and learn about impactful conservation efforts, all within a beautifully preserved landscape.
